Privacy Policy

Aether ("we", "us", "our") operates the client context platform at buildaether.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our services.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and firm name. If you sign up via Google OAuth, we receive your profile information from Google.

Client Data (Ingested Content)

Aether connects to your team's existing tools — Slack, Gmail, and Google Drive — to ingest and index client-related content. This includes messages, emails, documents, and meeting transcripts. All ingested data is segmented by client and scoped to your firm. We never access content outside the specific channels, labels, and folders you authorize.

Usage Data

We collect basic usage analytics such as page views, feature usage, and session duration to improve the product. We use Sentry for error monitoring and may collect anonymized performance metrics.

Calculator & Lead Capture

If you use the Recall Tax Calculator and submit your email, we collect your email address and the calculator inputs you provided. This is used solely to send you a one-time results email and to enable follow-up outreach.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Providing the service: Ingested content is processed and indexed so our AI agents can answer your client-related queries with cited sources.
  • AI processing:Queries and relevant context are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for natural language processing. Voyage AI is used to generate text embeddings for semantic search. Neither Anthropic nor Voyage AI retains your data for model training.
  • Email communications: We use Resend to send transactional emails such as daily briefs, agent outputs, and calculator results.
  • Billing: Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security enforcing firm-level isolation. No data is shared between firms. OAuth tokens for connected services are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.

We use HTTPS for all data in transit. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel only.

4. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third-party services only as needed to operate Aether:

  • Supabase — database hosting and authentication
  • Anthropic (Claude) — AI query processing (data is not used for model training)
  • Voyage AI — text embeddings for semantic search
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Vercel — application hosting
  • Sentry — error monitoring (no PII is intentionally collected)

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data and ingested content for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your data is retained for 30 days to allow for reactivation, after which it is permanently deleted. Calculator lead data is retained indefinitely for sales follow-up purposes.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Disconnect any integrated data source at any time
  • Export your data

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not sell your data to third parties.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice in the application. Continued use of Aether after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
